Weekly Challenge for Teens Nov 20- Nov 27

Are you truly thankful? Yeah, I know we’re thankful for some things, like dinner on the table and that new movie you got. But does your life reflect thankfulness? What does a life of thankfulness look like? We’d like to help this next generation see the positive instead of the negative. Help you realize all that you have instead of what you don’t. So, without further delay, here is this week’s challenge.

When you wake up in the morning, and when you go to sleep at night, express five things you are thankful for. Instead of focusing on what didn’t go well, or things you don’t have, say “thanks” to God for at least five wonderful things in your life. Can’t think of anything? Start with the obvious. You’re breathing. That’s one. You are obviously on a computer, reading this challenge. That’s two. You get the hint….

Weekly Challenge for Teens November 14-November 21

This weeks challenge is rather difficult. Not difficult in concept but difficult in execution. Why, you ask? Because I often hear teens say that it is one of the most difficult and challenging tasks to accomplish start to finish. Are you ready for this incredible undertaking? Here goes….

Read a book. Yup, we said it. Read. A book. An entire book this week. Cover to cover, start to finish. Not a comic book. And not just any book. A purity book. Need a suggestion? For guys, Hero by Fred Stoeker is a fantastic read, while Set Apart Femininity is a great choice for you ladies. Whatever your choice, get cookin and happy reading!

Back to Asia We Go….

hong kong

Hey guys,

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this pre-holiday season :) I don’t know about you, but right about now I start thinking, “wow, I should really avoid last year’s fiasco of shopping the night before Christmas and start now…..”. Then I glance back at my to-do list and figure Christmas presents may just have to wait until 12/22-24. We landed in Asia yesterday and I wishfully believed that maybe, possibly, I could get some Christmas shopping done. Nevermind the fact that my two suitcases are already full and shopping time is not exactly in excess….we’ll see how to goes. I figure I could always wear five layers of clothes to save suitcase space if need be :)

As I mentioned above, some of the gov team headed back to Asia this week for another fruitful time of ministry and networking. We really appreciate your prayers and support, and we’ll be sure to share stories and pictures when we get back! BE BLESSED and encouraged as you move forward with your week.

Blessings,

The GOV Team

Weekly Challenge for Teens November 6- November 13

Commitment is an important part of growing up, whether it be in your family, your job or your purity. Purity? Why purity? Because committing to something means you’ll follow through. It isn’t supposed to be taken lightly. In fact, it is  very serious decision. Committing to be pure in heart, mind and body means that you are going to go the extra mile to avoid any situation that would compromise your commitment. What begins this commitment? Enter: your weekly challenge.

This week, sit down with your parents, youth pastors, or other adults you trust and write a purity pledge. YOUR purity pledge. It can be a simple prayer or an elegant letter, but whatever it is, prayerfully consider it, then stick to it! Post it on your mirror, in your car, in your locker, anywhere and everywhere that you will pay attention. This is a serious promise before yourself, your parents, your future spouse and God that you will remain pure for your future husband or future wife. Purity can change the world- are you ready?

Weekly Challenge for Teens October 31-November 6

Purity is an integral part of our lives. It’s so important, in fact, that the God of the universe says that if you are pure in heart, you will SEE HIM! Wow! What a promise! Sometimes in this day and age we need a little reminding to remain pure in heart, mind and body. So, without further delay, here is your challenge.

Design a purity ring for Generations of Virtue’s Purity Ring Design Contest! If your ring is chosen, you will be aiding thousands of young people from all over the world in keeping their commitment to purity. Now remember, a purity ring is just an outward symbol of an inward commitment. It’s not magic, nor does it make any guarantees. But here is what it does do: it serves as a constant reminder to remain pure, both before God and to your future spouse. So what are you waiting for? Jump in! To give you some inspiration, check out this video on purity rings:
